Catch up: like Harry Potter, we're back from the dead

Following a lengthy summer sojourn, MediaPaL is back. Over the next couple of days we'll be posting some 'catch-up' blogs reviewing briefly what's been going on in various areas over the last six weeks, before returning to daily(ish) links and comment from next week.
